VIB Rouge Haul

It's official, I am a full-fledged beauty addict. I hit up my closest Sephora store on the 10th, the last day for triple the points for VIB Rouge and of course I qualified that day with the purchase I'm sharing with you today.

I had been wanting just about everything I picked up for a while... though the Agave Lip Mask in Champagne was just released. It is incredibly hydrating, smells amazing and will last forever. $30 seems like a lot but the tube is fairly large and the amount of product you use each time is miniscule.
Hourglass Ambient Lighting Palette, can we just talk about this for a second. Three stunningly beautiful shades that I swear I will use in no time. Dim Light is what I have been using under my eyes and I cannot get enough! The palette exclusive shade, Incandescent Light has been my go-to highlight shade for the last 10 days. I did use it under the shimmer shade in my last post.
I decided I needed to step up my brow game so I purchased a Brow Wiz in Medium Brown and Dipbrow Pomade in Taupe from Anastasia Beverly Hills. So far so good, I haven't played with them much but I'm liking them so far.
Too Faced Melted Liquefied Long Wear Lipstick in Fig, gorgeous purple. Smells like cotton candy, wears well. Only have to touch up after eating which is pretty standard. I will say this as well as the Kat Von D Everlasting Liquid Lipstick need a lip liner because they will bleed. The shade in KVD that I got is Bauhau5

This is what I spent $1000 for this year! The VIB Rouge gift is this mini Bite Beauty Luminous Crème Lipstick in Bite for VIB Rouge, so it is a VIB Rouge exclusive colour and from what I can tell and have read, it is a very universal red which is nice. I feel like if I do decide to love this lipstick I need to order 3 or 4 of them because I don't know how long they will be available or whether I will get to VIB Rouge status next year! (Let's get real, yes I will)

Below I have inserted swatches of the three lipsticks top to bottom: Fig, Bauhau5, and Bite for VIB Rouge.

Thanks for reading and hopefully see you again!

About damn time

It is time to put my face on this blog, let's get real here. Just a quick makeup of the day.
I started out with Revlon Photoready Foundation in either number 004 Nude, and buffed that into the skin with a RealTechniques buffing brush. I then applied MAC Pro Longwear Concealer in NW20 and an ELF highlighting concealer and blended that out with a sigma F86.
I set my undereye with the Vanilla shade in the Anastasia Beverly Hills Contour Kit and a bit of Dim Light in the Hourglass Ambient Lighting Palette. I set the rest of my face with MAC mineralized skin finish natural in medium. For the eyes I had no idea when I started what I wanted to do, so the steps were fairly disjointed. I started with M5 in the Smashbox Full Exposure eyeshadow palette and just blended that in the crease with a Sigma E40, then to deepen the crease I used M6 with an E25. I then applied Buxom's Stay-There Eyeshadow in Chihuahua with a flat shader brush. I then went back and deepened up the crease again with M5 and M6 as well as blended M3 around the outer edge to warm up the look a bit. I then moved onto brows which I used M6 and M5 as well because I didn't have any specific brow products handy, then I set them with Benefit Gimme Brow in Light/Medium which I have decided is just a bit too light for my liking.
Once brows were done I went in with S4 still in the Full Exposure palette under the brow bone and in the tear duct as well as highlighted my nose, cheekbones, and cupid's bow. I swept M5 and M6 along the lower lashline then I started with GOSH Extreme Art Eye Liner in number 25, a really lovely gunmetal grey, but it wasn't quite dark enough so I did add my Physician's Formula Eye Booster Pen in Ultra Black just to amp up that top lash line a little bit. I curled lashes and used L'Oreal Lash Out Butterfly Waterproof in Blackest Black. I then decided this look needed a pop of colour so I used my Sephora Contour Eye Pencil in #23 Summer Cruise.
To finish off the face I used Fawn in the Anastasia Beverly Hills Contour Kit to contour and bronze a bit, and in the ELF Contouring Blush & Bronzer in St Lucia I just used the blush. I lined then filled in my lips with a NYX Retractable lip liner in Vanilla Sky, and just tapped on some Bite Beauty Agave Lip Mask in Champagne. I took a bath in Urban Decay All Nighter Setting Spray, and this is the final result!

Gel Polish... Again

Evidently we both very much liked this kind of mani, same thing we did a few weeks ago with different colours. Both Gelaze in Liquid Leather and In The Lime Light. I liked the Liquid Leather on her so much that I used it for my nails as well!

Gel Polish

Jack of all trades? Hardly, but when it comes to beauty I'm into just about everything. A good friend of mine has let me do her nails for a while now and I swear every time she says "this set is my favourite!" But I think this set that I've done for her is my favourite. They are quite short as per her request, we tried squared off the last time and she was breaking all the corners in her work gloves.
I use the Gelish system as well as China Glaze Gelaze, the pink being Shake It 'Til You Samba and the yellow is Celtic Sun. The gems are Cheeky and they came in a multi pack I found on Amazon.

Mini Lunch Hour Haul

Target did it again.
I've been wanting Really Red, Black Cherry and Primrose from Revlon's Super Lustrous Lipstick line for months now so I talked myself into it today. They were under $7 a piece. And the Colorburst Matte and Laquer Balms were on for $4.24 so I mean, can't go wrong there. I have noticed that you really have to check if the plastic piece has been lifted on these, as one of the ones I bought looks like its been touched. In matte I got Complex and Standout and in laquer I chose Whimsical. Here's hoping I don't already have any of them!

Mini Sephora haul from Monday!

The no bleeding lips was a no-brainer, how many times have you had a lip colour that none of your lip liners go with? I know for me, too often. This helps keep your lipstick and gloss in place!
My Sephora just set up their Buxom display where you find your name in their lip polishes and I got sucked in. Lucky for me I am now completely obsessed with Jennifer! It is a gorgeous purple tint and it has the feel and smell of all of their lip polishes which is a little tacky and it does have the minty plumping sensation with a cake scent.
I saw on Jaclyn Hill's April Favourites that she compared the Origins Clear Improvement Activated Charcoal Mask to the original Glamglow. Now I have yet to try Glamglow because $70 for that little container? No thank you. I have tried this mask now and I must say I am loving it. My face felt so clean after washing it off!
Lastly I have seen so many looks using a bright blue liner as a pop of colour and Marlena from Makeup Geek suggested the Sephora 10 Shades of Samba Collection, but it was a little unnecessary for me to get the whole thing, though I may still go that route because I do love the formulation and pigmentation.
I don't think I have anything else to tell you guys, life has been crazy the last few weeks so I'll be much more present starting now!
